“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20

Capuchin Mobile Ministries brings the welcome of Christ to people living on the streets in Boston and Cambridge, Mass. We provide spiritual care to everyone experiencing homelessness, poverty, and loneliness.

Three days a week, all the year round, we go out in our outreach van to the places where the homeless gather. We welcome everyone who stops by our van. We share food and drink and other emergency supplies. We listen. We offer spiritual resources. We pray together. We direct people to social services. We remember everyone we meet by name.

We are a ministry of accompaniment. We are a ministry of presence. Together, we discover Christ already present among us.

Our vision is to foster dignity and hope on the streets by nurturing transformative and non-transactional relationships. Every year we serve thousands of homemade sandwiches and pour thousands of cups of coffee, cocoa, and lemonade. But more important than this is the quality of care we offer. We know each person we meet by name. We know their stories. We know how light or sweet they want their coffee. We always show up. We never cancel. People can depend on us for consistent care and unconditional compassion.

Showing mercy on the margins is how Capuchins live out the Gospel. Following in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi, who embraced lepers, Capuchin Mobile Ministries brings mercy to the streets.
