Our fraternal collaboration with the friars of the Holy Trinity Province of Karnataka, India, continues to be strong. On Jan. 5, our brother Fr. Divya Karunesh arrived at Our Lady of Sorrows Friary. He is now the newest member of the Our Lady of Sorrows fraternity and will be serving as parochial vicar at Our Lady of Sorrows and St. Mary Parishes on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

Father Divya was born in Hassan, Karnataka, in 1984. He was invested as a novice in the Capuchin Order in 2004, made his perpetual profession of vows on May 3, 2012, and was ordained a priest exactly two years later. This is his first assignment in the United States.

Let us welcome our brother to our fraternal life and ministry in the Province of St. Mary!
